Love God

So be very careful to love the LORD your God. – Joshua 23:11

We are a people easily misled and tricked into believing what is false. The media and Hollywood are designed to deceive us and lead us down false paths, to keep us focused on the wrong things.
And so we are easily made to believe things that are false. Our parents used to be concerned about who it is that we hung around with when we were young. Looking back, they were probably more concerned with if we were going to wind up in some type of trouble with the world and not if the world was misleading us while we were away from them.
The fact is, you are ALWAYS at risk to be misled, at every turn.  You can never become so prideful that you think you can do this without God who IS THE TRUTH. (John 14:6)

As Joshua begins to exit public life in Israel, he has one last piece of advice for his followers – see God and love him in the lives that you will live. No matter what happens, see the hand of God in your life. This was their best defense against the heresies and lies of the world: to always recognize the good of God’s presence. They needed to always remember that in the bad it is His strength that will carry you.

Without God, we can do nothing, but with Him, all things are possible.  When you finally grasp ahold of this, all fear melts away and it becomes nearly impossible for the world to mislead you anymore.
