God's approval or man's approval

How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only - John 5:44

Praise can come either from men or from God. People will praise you; it's their choice to do so. People, even true followers of the King Jesus, may also flatter you. It matters a lot how you handle the praise directed to you.

Allow people to praise you. Be grateful about that and thank them most sincerely. But don't let it not inflate your ego. Don't let it become something you seek after and something that you are focused on. Keep your mind, heart, and eyes where they belong.

Never waste your time trying to obtain the praise that comes from men.  It just doesn't matter. Instead, you should be focused on obeying  God. Every step of the way, never worry yourself about how people see you; instead, be very concerned about how well you are walking with your King.

If God says "Yes", it does not matter who and how many people say "No!".

Lately, all I seem to see is people who mainly have the desire for the approval of men more than the approval of God. They sacrifice the will of God for men's praise. This needs to change. Jesus  talked about people who "loved praise from men more than praise from God"- John 12:43 .

Paul knew how best to walk with his Lord.  We were not looking for praise from men, not from you or anyone else - 1 Thessalonians 2:6  Not from men; not even from you. This should always be how we live.

But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God. - Romans 2:29 . Someone who truly follows Christ does not seek approval of man.

Jesus said "I receive not honor from men" - John 5:41 .

So, tell me again why you care what others think?

Whose praise are you seeking? God or mans?
